East Lothian Learning Partnership (ELLP) works with learning and training providers in East Lothian to promote and celebrate learning. If you would like to find out more about courses and other learning opportunities available in East Lothian, ELLP has a Learners’ Register to keep you informed.

The register has gone from strength to strength over the last year – there were just over 100 members at the beginning of 2005 and this has grown to over 700.

If you are interested (whether taking part in a course at the moment of thinking about it for the future) why not join the Learners’ Register?  On joining, you get a pack, which includes information on courses in the area, where to go for help to brush up English and Maths, who to contact for help in finding a job or changing career.  A Learners’ Register membership card is sent which allows you to buy books through your local library and obtain a 10% discount.  A quarterly newsletter keeps you up-to-date with new courses or learning opportunities in East Lothian.

To find out more or to sign up with the Learners’ Register, contact Julie Scott on 0131 653 4067 or email jscott5@eastlothian.gov.uk

LEARNING EAST LOTHIAN AT ELLP.NET

Learning East Lothian at ellp.net aims to be the one-stop-on-line-shop for learning in our area.  It includes details of learning opportunities in the region, links to all kinds of learning providers and course notes and links to East Lothian’s community groups.  You can visit the site at ellp.net and register for regular email updates on learning opportunities, and events and access to free downloads. ELLP is running courses for community groups who want to have their own website.  They will not only host your site free but also teach members of your group how to design and maintain the site without any need for extra software on your computer.
